Wooden Wardrobe

When you are shopping for a white wardrobe, you need to be aware that just because a wardrobe looks like it is made of wood does not mean that it is. Particle board is becoming more and more of a prominent force in home furnishing. I cannot imagine that this trend will last too long but for right now it is in the stores.

Particle board, essentially, is sawdust and wood waste glue together into a board like structure. It is then either laminated or coated with a faux wooden finish. It is not strong. When wet it can warp and even break apart. It is not a good option if you want a wardrobe to last.

Do not get wardrobe who will not have seems around the corners. All of the grain will go in the same direction. If you are unsure if a certain wardrobe is either wooden or made of particle board ask.

If you are shopping online, look for the description. The description should say that it is made out of a certain type of wood. If it omits the type of material it is made out of, it is probably because they do not want to advertise that it is a wardrobe made out of particle board.

Another option is that of a metal wardrobe. A metal wardrobe will be hard to find. That will also be heavier to transport. Whether you want a metal wardrobe or wooden wardrobe will vary based on the look you want to have. What you do not want to is a white wardrobe bit of particle board.
